Who We Are

Alta Community Association (ACA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit California corporation. ACA was established by community members who volunteered their time and efforts to seek solutions for public housing problems. The founders believed that there was a need to create family affordable housing. The organization began serving the community through fund raisers and obtaining over contributions to establish the organization and provide affordable housing.

What We Do

Alta Community Association, (ACA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit California corporation. ACA was established by community members who volunteered their time and efforts to seek solutions to housing problems. ACA is actively working within the affordable housing community to seek new and creative ways to empower, educate and motivate residents to take an active role in their lives. We believe that all solutions come from within people and that human service programs improve resident's lives through job training and education. The organization's mission is to preserve and create new single family affordable housing and to produce a decent and safe quality of life for the families within the community and to provide human services to improve the quality of life. ACA's priority is the preservation and rehabilitation of housing to low-income families and senior citizens. ACA also works to provide training, and education. Training provided to residents includes computer learning centers, neighborhood networks, emergency services training program jointly performed by the Los Angeles City Fire Department. Community Police Academy training provided jointly with the Los Angeles Police Department. Citizenship and community responsibility training provided directly by ACA. Youth Build training working with the LA Unified School district and providing employment opportunities in the construction industry. Our objective is to preserve single and multifamily affordable housing and enrich the lives of families within the community. In doing so we are able to utilize the financial resources that enable a non-profit corporation to develop an affordable project. Those resources are public subsidies through the grants.
