Course Monitors: Placed at key locations along the course (a fork in the road, sharp turn, etc.). Although the course is clearly marked, many runners are in a "zone" and miss the markers. Monitors make sure the runners follow the correct course, cheer runners on, and offer encouragement to runners.
Each Zone Captain is responsible for the Course Monitors in a 3-6 mile section. Zone Captains should: have a bike and be comfortable riding it intermittently for 3-4 hours, and be familiar with the marathon route.
Water Station duties include: passing out water and/or Gatorade to the runners along the 5K, half marathon, and full marathon routes; cleaning up the cups after the runners have gone by; cheering the runners on; and making sure the runners are following the route.
